How to set up Extuitive

Extuitive is a connection you add to Claude — on the web, in the desktop app or from your phone — so Claude can build Meta ads for you. This article covers connecting it, connecting your Meta ad account when you need it, what happens after an upload, and the problems people hit most often. Setup takes about a minute.

Before you start

Extuitive works with both Claude and Codex, so follow whichever section matches the tool you already use — you do not need both. For anything that touches your ad account you will also need a Meta ad account you can create ads in (an Advertiser or Admin role works); you connect it after Claude is set up, and Claude can send you the link when it is needed.

Connect Claude

The main route. No terminal, no files to install — Extuitive is a connection you add to your Claude account, and it works from claude.ai, the desktop app or your phone's browser. Once added it appears in the Claude mobile app too.

Fastest: open the Add to Claude link. It opens claude.ai with the connector name and URL already filled in. Sign in if asked, check the values, and select Add — then skip to “Select Connect” below.Add to Claude
By hand: in Claude, select Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. On the desktop app the menu may read Connections. Older builds show it under Settings.
Name the connector Extuitive and paste the Extuitive URL. Claude checks the server. When it says “Server found”, select Add (or Continue, then Add).

Select Connect. The connector page says you are not connected to Extuitive yet. Select Connect; your browser opens and asks “Finish connecting a connector?” — choose Continue connecting.
Create your Extuitive account. On the “Connect Claude to Extuitive” page, select Create an account (or Log in if you already have one). Google or email both work; Continue with Facebook also connects Meta in the same step, so you can skip the Meta step below.
Allow access for Claude. Select Allow access. Claude shows “Connected” and takes you back — if your browser asks, choose Open Claude.
Open a new chat. This is the step people miss. Extuitive only appears in chats you start after connecting.
Connect Meta. Only needed for work on your ad account. Ask Claude to connect your Meta account and it replies with a link (your setup guide has the same button). Select Continue to Meta and confirm with Facebook, then choose the ad accounts you want to use with Extuitive and select Continue. Only the accounts you pick here can be uploaded to.
Ask for an upload. For example: “Upload the ads in this folder to Summer Testing.”

You are set when the Extuitive connector page shows Disconnect and a list of tools, and those tools appear in a brand-new chat.

Terminal setup (Codex)

Only needed if you use Codex or prefer the terminal. Requires the Codex CLI; uploading files from your computer also needs Node.js 20 or newer. If you are on Claude Desktop, use the section above instead.

Add Extuitive. Run codex mcp add extuitive --url https://www.extuitive.com/mcp once.

Log in. In the same terminal, run codex mcp login extuitive. In the browser window it opens, sign up and select Allow access — the same steps as above.

Quit Codex and reopen it. Without a restart Codex will not pick up Extuitive.
Point it at your creative. For example: “Upload ./creative to Summer Testing.” The first time you ask for something that needs your ad account, Codex replies with a link to connect Meta — open it, confirm with Facebook, and pick your ad accounts.

You are set when codex mcp list shows extuitive as connected.

Open a new chat (Extuitive only appears in chats started after connecting) and paste a prompt.

What happens after you upload

You name a folder and a campaign. Extuitive uploads the creative to your Meta library, then builds the ads — names, URLs, display links and copy all filled in.

Every ad is created paused. Nothing goes live and nothing spends until you open Meta Ads Manager, review the batch, and switch the ads on yourself.

If something goes wrong

I connected, but Extuitive does not show up: Start a new chat. Connections load when a chat opens, so anything already running will not see Extuitive. In Codex, quit the app completely and reopen it.
Codex says extuitive already exists: Extuitive is already added. Restart Codex and log in again. If it still does not appear, run codex mcp remove extuitive and add it again.
Meta sent me to a localhost page: Your connection worked — that page is just where the handoff ends. Close the tab and go back to your chat (or your Extuitive setup guide, which will show Meta as connected).
I cannot see my ad account: You need an active Meta ad account where your user can create ads (Advertiser or Admin). In Meta Business Settings, check that your user is assigned to the ad account with one of those roles, then disconnect and reconnect Meta.
My ads are not running: That is on purpose. Every ad is created paused so nothing spends before a human looks at it. Review the batch in Ads Manager and switch the ads on.
